MY ROLE

I spearheaded the UX strategy for the Store Management Module, crafting an intuitive interface tailored to diverse user roles through extensive collaboration with stakeholders. Informed by robust user research, I made design decisions aimed at simplicity and scalability. I adopted a modular design approach to facilitate future expansion and seamless integration of new features, prioritizing flexibility and ease of use.

Utilizing rapid prototyping and iterative design cycles, I refined the user interface based on rigorous usability testing and valuable feedback, ensuring optimal user experience.

Moreover, I facilitated cross-functional collaboration with product management, engineering, and other teams, ensuring the harmonious integration of design solutions with technical requirements and overarching business objectives.

Project Overview

Developers encounter challenges due to the lack of a dedicated store management module in the application, leading to the need for manual code adjustments to handle store data and channel controls efficiently. This manual approach results in increased development time, potential errors, and overall inefficiencies in managing and maintaining store-related functionalities within the application.

Solution

To address these challenges, we develop a new Store Management Module within the existing "DP Studio" application platform. This module aims to empower stakeholders with robust functionalities to search the store, find store details, synchronize data, and manage channels effectively, enhancing collaboration and productivity across store management teams

MY DESIGN PROCESS

Design Process

User Needs Discovery

During this phase, I conducted in-depth interviews with engineers, SREs (Site Reliability Engineers), and TPMs (Technical Program Managers) to gain insights into pain points and user requirements specific to store management within DP Studio. I gathered qualitative and quantitative data to understand the challenges and opportunities associated with store management operations within the existing environment and identified key user needs and priorities for improvement, ensuring a user-centric foundation for subsequent design and development phases.

Strategic Roadmap and Design Foundation

In this phase, I analyzed insights gleaned from user interviews and research findings to develop a comprehensive strategic roadmap. I established an effective information hierarchy to guide the design process, promoting intuitive navigation and efficient data access within the store management module.

Design & Prototyping

During the design and prototyping phase, I created wireframes and interactive prototypes based on the established information hierarchy, visualizing user flows and functionalities to validate design concepts. I conducted usability testing sessions with stakeholders and end-users, gathering valuable feedback to iterate on design solutions and refine the user experience. Throughout this phase, I ensured accessibility and usability considerations were integrated into the design through iterative improvements, fostering an intuitive and engaging interface.

Implementation & Security

Collaborating closely with cross-functional development teams, I translated design concepts into functional features within the DP Studio environment. I implemented robust role-based access control mechanisms (e.g., Viewer, Resync, On-Off roles) to enhance data security and integrity, ensuring authorized access based on user roles and responsibilities. Furthermore, I ensured seamless integration of new products and features with existing DP Studio systems, adhering to industry best practices and security standards throughout the implementation process.

Phase 5: Rollout & Adoption

In the final phase, I developed a comprehensive change management plan tailored to the specific needs and workflows of DP Studio employees, addressing communication strategies, training sessions, and support mechanisms. I conducted interactive training sessions and provided detailed support materials to facilitate a smooth adoption process of the new store management platforms. I also monitored adoption rates and gathered continuous feedback from users to address any challenges or concerns during the transition, ensuring a successful and impactful rollout of the transformed store management solutions.

Outcomes and Impact

  • Enhanced Efficiency: Stakeholders can now easily search for stores and access detailed information, significantly reducing time spent on data retrieval and maintenance.

  • Improved Data Consistency: The streamlined data synchronization functionality ensures consistent data across internal and external systems, minimizing errors and discrepancies.

  • Effective Channel Management: Granular control over enabling/disabling specific channels for individual stores allows for enhanced operational efficiency and security.

  • Streamlined Access Control: Role-based access control ensures appropriate permissions and mitigates unauthorized access, improving data governance and user accountability.
